Local karatekas use home ground advantage to excel

Karatekas from the Eksteen Bushido Freestyle Karate Do Institute used their home ground to their advantage during the 11th annual National All Styles Battle in the Bush Contact Karate Championships

POLOKWANE – Karatekas from the Eksteen Bushido Freestyle Karate Do Institute used their home ground to their advantage during the 11th annual National All Styles Battle in the Bush Contact Karate Championships held at Eksteen’s dojo on Saturday.

Local karatekas exchanged blows with karatekas from as far as Sun City, Rustenburg and Burgersfort.

Grandmaster Henri Eksteen (9th Dan), owner of the dojo, said the tournament was one of their best tournaments to date and he was happy with the support from parents and karate enthusiasts.

Ayo Mokwena swept the crowd off their feet with his powerful kicks which made him win most of his games.
