Leopards ready for Swallows match up
The struggling Black Leopards FC will lock horns with the ailing Moroka Swallows at the Dobsonville stadium on Saturday afternoon.
LIMPOPO – The struggling Black Leopards FC will lock horns with the ailing Moroka Swallows at the Dobsonville stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Lidoda Duvha is in eigth position of the National First Division log with 17 points, while the Dube Birds are hanging onto 14th position with only ten points. Before a brief recess for Christmas and New Year, Leopards won 1-0 over Thanda Royal Zulu FC at the Thohoyandou stadium while Swallows lost 1-0 against Mthatha Bucks at the Mthatha stadium.
Swallows’ players are back at training after going on strike over unpaid salaries last month. On 3 December last year, the players refused to take part in training following irregular payments which saw some get paid in September, others in October, and no payments made in December.
Several soccer analysts say Leopards will win the game although they are playing at Swallows’ home.
Spokesperson for the Leopards, Barry Ramunenyiwa, said the players are ready to remove the feathers from the Dube Birds. We need our supporters to come in large number and cheer for the boys,” said Ramunenyiwa.
Meanwhile, Baroka FC will be hosting AmaZulu at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Saturday afternoon. Baroka is on the top position of the NFD log with twenty-eight points after playing 13 games. There are two fixtures on Sunday: Thanda Royal Zulu FC v Highlands Park and Vasco Da Gama v Mbombela United, while Santos host Mthatha Bucks at Athlone next Tuesday.
