PSG FC crowned tourney champs
PSG FC has successfully defended the Tlou Segolela Annual Festive Tournament title after defeating Chebeng All Stars 2-1 in the final match played at the Black Rovers sports grounds in Mabokelele, Moletjie on 31 December.
POLOKWANE – PSG FC has successfully defended the Tlou Segolela Annual Festive Tournament title after defeating Chebeng All Stars 2-1 in the final match played at the Black Rovers sports grounds in Mabokelele, Moletjie on 31 December.
The game between these two teams swept the crowd off its feet as players showcased their best soccer skills on the field.
PSG found the back of the net in the first half of the game and this put Chebeng All Stars under pressure.
The tables turned in the second half however as Chebeng All Stars was seen attacking PSG strongly with the aim to equalise. Indeed the pressure Chebeng put into the game earned them an equaliser, making the score 1-1 in the early minutes of the second half.
Both teams were eager to get score the deciding goal and be able to lift the Tlou Segolela Annual Festive Tournament trophy.
PSG secured the second goal in the last minutes of the game to make it 2-1. Chebeng tried to equalise once more, but time was not on their side.
PSG has claimed the Tlou Segolela Annual Festive Tournament title for two consecutive years, making it the first team in history to successfully defend the title and claim the trophy two years in a row.
In the u/15 soccer tournament, TSSE won the title, while Vixens Netball Club claimed the title in the netball tournament.
The 2015 Tlou Segolela Annual Festive Tournament was honoured by one of the best commentators in the Premier Soccer League, Baba Mthethwa.
Mthethwa shared his experience with up and coming commentators and urged them to chase after their dreams until they become a reality. He added that nothing comes easy in life and encouraged people to work hard to become the best in what they do.
