Lentetrap welcomes spring in style

Local cyclists welcomed spring with the annual Lentetrap Cycling race at the Polokwane Game Reserve on Saturday, 26 August.

POLOKWANE -Cyclists came out in their numbers to compete in the race hosted by E.H. Hassim Builders World. The race caters for all cycling categories such as a 70 km, a half marathon of 36 km, a fun ride of 17 km and a kiddies ride.

Winners: 10 km race:

•Ruben Van Ree with a winning time of 37:57.2 who has ran 92 by far (overall winner).
•Boys u/10 (Nippers); Fredrick(Nicky) Willemse with a winning time of 40:42.9
•Boys u/12 (Sprongs); Ruben Van Ree with a winning time of 37:57.2
•Girls u/10 (Nippers); Jana Kotze with a winning time of 47:46.3
•Girls u/12 (Sprongs); Tashane Ehlers with a winning time 45:10.4
•Open Men Bernardus De Villiers with a winning time of 37:57.9
•Open Women Leandri Van Huysteen with a winning time of 43:55.4
•Sub Juniors Boys 13-14 Ethan Erasmus with a winning time of 41:13.4
•Sub Juniors Girls 13-14 Marze Becker with a winning time of 45:13.7
35 km race:
•Richard Lambert with a winning time of 1:20:10.2 and has run 183 races (overall winner).
•Grand Master Lady 60+; Elbie Lourens with a winning time of 1:54:55.1
•Grand Master Men 60+; Elmo Barnardt with a winning time of 1:31:11.7
•Junior Lady 17-18; Sune Reyneke with a winning time of 2:40:17.2

Participants and visitors could enjoy the refreshment stalls while the children played to on a jumping castle all tied together with music entertainment to make it a memorable way to welcome spring for young and old.
