Three Mokopane gymnasts ready for SA Gym Games
Three gymnasts from Marshall Gymnastics Academy recently took part in the Limpopo Artistic Competition at the Matsport Centre in Eldoraigne, Gauteng and achieved outstanding results.
MOKOPANE – Melody Raats, Ruan Goosen, and Jan van der Baan did splendidly during this qualifier round and qualified for the SA Gym Games which will take place in October also at the Matsport Centre.
Melody Raats achieved a gold medal for the vault, a gold medal for the u-bar, a gold medal for the beam, and a bronze medal for her floor routine.
She also took first place as the best level five gymnast in her age group in Limpopo and achieved an overall first place.
Ruan Goosen obtained a silver medal for the vault and an eighth overall placing. Jan van der Baan achieved a silver medal for the vault, bronze for his p-bar routine and a bronze for his high bar routine.
He also achieved an overall fifth place.
