BAROKA, ajax in battle of equals
Visitors Ajax Cape Town forced the high-riding Baroka FC to a 2 all draw in their Absa Premier League match played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.

LIMPOPO – This follows Ajax displaying entertaining football skills that had Baroka running for cover for the better part of the first half.
The former’s midfielder, Rodrick Kabwe, caught the Baroka Keeper, Virgil Vries, off-guard with a beautiful header in the second minute of the first half. The Urban Warriors could have won the match had they not abused countless scoring opportunities in the first few minutes of the match.
The Baroka side was strong in the far back and striking force departments, yet lacked cohesion in the middle of the park.
On the other hand, Ajax enjoyed more ball possession but their promising moves were turned to nothing due to the rock-solid defence of Baroka. Bakgakga gained momentum when they equalised through a penalty kick by Richard Matloga after they were awarded a spot-kick for a handball inside the area. Baroka’s dribbling wizard, Siphelele Ntshangase, dribbled past three defenders in a row, but shot wide from close range.
It took Ajax 51 minutes to increase the margin. Ajax’s Tashreeq Morris gave his team a lead with a balloon shot from the penalty area, forcing Baroka to strengthen their striking force by introducing Lewis Macha, who quickly equalised the score with a well-timed gliding header.
