Benny’s boys aim to bring trophy home

The Copa Cola-Cola U/15 football tournament is set to reach its climax from 28 September until Saturday, 30 September

LIMPOPO – The Copa Cola-Cola U/15 football tournament is set to reach its climax from 28 September until Saturday, 30 September, when nine provincial winners compete in the national finals at the Mangaung Outdoor Sports Complex in Bloemfontein.

Benny’s Care Soccer Academy aims to bring the South African Schools Knockout Competition trophy back to Limpopo in their fourth consecutive year representing the province. The team vowed to do things differently this year, according to the coach, Moses Muthelo.

“I’ve told my boys that we can perform well this year if we only focus and give our best. We are ready for the final battle. By winning this year’s Copa Coca-Cola, we will be making ourselves, our community, the school and the province at large extremely proud,” he said.

Muthelo also acknowledged that they learned from last year’s “slip-ups” and will have a different approach this year.

“Last year, we lost due to a lack of concentration. The boys have to master the art of concentration and focus. I have therefore prepared them mentally not to make simple mistakes,” he added.

He indicated that his squad would have to score goals and match their opponents’ strength in every game to proceed to the next round. Muthelo said his squad had all the ingredients for winning the national championship this year.
