Saps celebrates female soccer players with tournament

The annual 2018 SAPS Women National Soccer Championship kicked off on Sunday 5 August at the Noodelikes Rugby Club fields in celebration of women players this women's month.

POLOKWANE – The event, hosted by the South African Police Service Football Association (SAPSFA), was launched in the North West province in August 2006 and  rotates throughout all nine provinces where teams from all nine provinces participate together with South African Police Service Head Office team as the tenth sporting entity.

Entry is free, so there is no excuse to miss out on the soccer action as teams from across South Africa face off.

Fixtures for the rest of the week includes:
Pool A teams:
1. Limpopo
2. Mpumalanga
3. Kwazulu Natal
4. North West
5. Northern Cape
Pool B teams:
1. Head Office
2. Eastern Cape
3. Free State
4. Western Cape
5. Gauteng
Soccer games for Wednesday 8 August:
• Western Cape v Eastern Cape 10:00
• KZN v Northern Cape 10 ;00
• Head Office v Free Sate 12 ;00
• Mpumalanga v North West 12 ;00
• Gauteng v Eastern Cape 14:00
• Northern Cape v Limpopo 14:00

Soccer games for Thursday 9 August:

On 9 August Woman’s day the winner of pool A will face the runner up of pool B at 09:00.

This will be followed by the ladies match between Refs/Sponsors/LOC v Coaches/Managers of the different teams at 10:45.

The winner of pool B will face the runner up of pool A at 12:00

Soccer games for Friday 10 August:

Grannies match will be played between the two finals at 11:00 where Vakhegula Vakhegula will be facing off against Seshego Golden Ladies.
