“There will be an opportunity for people who have never shot a firearm to come and shoot. The plan is to show people that shooting on the track is not just for experienced hunters,” said chairman of the association, Lourens Erasmus.

The day is being held in competition format with great prizes at stake, but Erasmus ensures that every person, no matter who he or she is, is given an equal opportunity to take home a prize.
There is a hunting rifle (308) for the winner of the men’s division, a handgun and also a trophy for the women’s section winner and an air gun and trophy for the junior winner. There will also be several big prizes up for grabs and special draws.
Food will be available at the restaurant on the premises and there is also a bring and braai facility.
Firearms will be available for people who do not have their own but would like to participate. “Safety always comes first and to ensure that everything is safe on the day, trained officers will be available at every event. Six different types of shooting will be available,” Erasmus said.
The entry fee is R100 for men and R50 for women and juniors.
No liquor will be allowed on the premises.
