[WATCH] Kgaogelo finishes grueling 160 km race

Kgaogelo Masipa (34) from Mankweng recently completed her first grueling Washie 100 Miler race in just under 24 hours.

POLOKWANE – Kgaogelo together with her team mate Matome Rasekgaka, represented their club Mzansi Athletics Club (Mzansi AC) and  Limpopo at the grueling 160 km race which took place in the Eastern Cape on Saturday, 13 July.

It was Matome’s second time running the race and he hepled prep his teammate before they competed. “It was not easy preparing for Washie 100 Miler, a lot of sacrifices had to be made, driven by hard work, passion, dedication and commitment to the training program,” Kgaogelo said.

Kgaogelo wished to thank her coach Lufuno Modau and Lucky Maahlo (2018 Washie 100 Miler winner) for helping her with her preparations for the Washie. “They advised us on how to train and recover,” she said.
