Zingane retains the WBA Pan Africa title
Sibusiso Zingane has retained his WBA Pan Africa Junior Lighting title when he defeated his challenger, Mziwodumo Mangixilana.
LIMPOPO – He won by technical knockout (TKO) in round two of 12 in a boxing match hosted by Tsetsa Media at Malamulele Boxing Gym on Friday .
Zingane said he was happy to retain the title and thanked his supporters for their support, especially for travelling from the Eastern Cape to Limpopo to watch and support him.
“I am happy about the win and I dedicate the win to my fans who have been with me through thick and thin. I will go back to training to prepare for my next fight which will take place in November,” he said.
Promoter, Prenoman Chabane, and Mayor of Collins Chabane Local Municipality, Moses Maluleke, said they were happy about the support they received from the local people during the tournament and indicated that this will revive boxing in Malamulele and Limpopo.
“We as the municipality would like to thank Tsetsa Media for hosting the boxing tournament and hope that this will help boost our local economy and revive boxing as one of the major sporting activities in our municipality and our province.
“We urge other young people to participate in sport as this will help fight against social ills and bring social cohesion within our municipality,” said Maluleke.
The other fights were junior bantam weight where Akani Sambu defeated Jansen Mazanani by points, the middleweight title in which Ntsako Miyambo lost to Donjuan van Heerden by TKO in round three and the junior featherweight fight where Saul Hlungwani won by a majority decision against Deon Mbubane.
Tsetsa Media awarded legendary boxing trainer and promoter, Eric Baloyi.
