Limpopo teams stay upbeat about upcoming soccer season
Soccer in South Africa made its long-awaited return over the weekend, with the kick-off of the MTN8. Four matches were played; two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
LIMPOPO – Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) faced SuperSport United on Saturday, but lost 3-2.
Their coach, Joel Masutha, told CV their attention now turns to their preparation for the upcoming DStv Premiership. TTM’s first game is at home at the Thohoyandou Stadium, where they will play against other new boys, TS Galaxy, on Sunday.
“We want them to feel the very same pain we felt when we lost to SuperSport,” said Masutha. He said they are more than ready for the match and hope to bag all three points.
The two other Limpopo representatives; Black Leopards and Baroka FC, will start their campaigns on Saturday. Leopards travel to the Lucas Moripe Stadium to face United, while Baroka play against Maritzburg United at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex.
According to Leopards coach, Patrick Aussems, everything is going well with their preparations. He said they were ready for whatever heat they might come across in the first match of the league. Aussems said a win will help a lot in the club’s ambitions to finish in the top eight this season.
