Late Seshego soccer star’s legacy to be honoured

The Top 4 Soccer Tournament will be hosted at the Seshego Zone 1 sports ground and will honour Lesiba Ramabula who died after being struck by lightning.

POLOKWANE – Local soccer teams, players and coaches will honour late soccer star Lesiba Ramabula with a Top 4 Soccer Tournament set for Seshego in April.

Ramabula, who played for Dstv Premier League champions Mamelodi Sundowns died last March after being struck by lightning in Seshego.

Before his death, the 21-year-old player had a stint with Turfloop 95 Football Academy, Molemole Academy and Limpopo School of Excellence.

Bayano Moloto, his former coach at Molemole Acadamy and Turfloop, and the organiser of the tournament said they plan to honour his legacy.

“He was such a promising player. He was destined for greatness and should have played in the top leagues. We felt it would be befitting to remember him and his immense soccer talent.”

Moloto added that the tournament will be staged at the Seshego Zone 1 sports ground.

“We are expecting many teams on the day. Through this tournament we want to give local players an opportunity to showcase their talent. We have invited scouts from various professional soccer clubs in the country. We will be having local musicians and local artists who will entertain the supporters and revelers on the day.”
