The celebrations saw around 1 000 athletes participating in three distances (21.1km, 10km and 5km fun run) on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Mzansi Athletics Club celebrated their seventh birthday with their stakeholders, the community and runners at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on January 13.

To commemorate the day, the club arranged a special training run with members and runners from other clubs as a gesture to thank them for their support over the years.

The club was founded by chairperson Richard Bilisi in 2017 to encourage a healthy lifestyle and staying fit, to bring about transformation in the athletics fraternity as well as making running fashionable in the province.

According to Bilisi, the club is by far the most famous and fastest growing running club.

He added that the event is part of their Back 2 School campaign, aimed at supporting needy learners with stationery and school related items.
