Thrills and more at Capricorn Racing Club’s fun day

Magda Keartland from the club said the day was a success because of all the entries and there were no injuries.

POLOKWANE – The Capricorn Racing Club (CRC) hosted a fun day on Saturday with 36 entries and riders from Polokwane, Phalaborwa, Tzaneen and Johannesburg taking part.

Magda Keartland from the club said they tried to get all the families off to the track to encourage riders.

“The day is all about safety for the riders and to experience a racing environment while having fun. The day was a success because of all our entries, and there were no injuries,” she said.

She added that for the sake of fairness for all, the classes are decided on the day of the fun day.

“There are three tracks: MX junior, MX senior and flat track for the quads. We ride three heats for the day to give you all enough riding for the day. We had eight classes on Saturday with the most riders in the open class, fastest class for the day was the 125cc warriors with Mark-Anthony Filip that took the win on his Yamaha 250cc 4 stroke and the fastest rider of the day as well. We missed the junior riders on the day. We did not have a lot of entries but that must be because of all the school sport going on at the moment and we hope to see them next time. The vets’ class was full of Johannesburg riders but Darrel Lehman from CRC keep it up to take the win,” she added.
