POLOKWANE – Local runner Rufus Photo says he is in the final stages of preparing for the 2024 Comrades Marathon scheduled for June 9 in Durban.

Photo ended in fifth position in last year’s race and is aiming for a top three finish this year.

He said he has been training hard with local runners.

“I was hoping to go on a camp but financially it was not possible. I have been training here at home with the local runners and they have given me some intense training. I have been working hard towards the race. I participated in the Mall of the North, Capricorn District, Polokwane City and Makoro marathons as part of the preparations. I think I am in good shape now and ready to compete with top runners from the African continent.”
