Local golfers shine at Pietersburg Club’s annual Golf Day

Local golfers battled for glory at the Pietersburg Club's Golf Day, with Team Meyer victorious and prize-giving closing the event.

POLOKWANE – A total of 68 players participated in the Pietersburg Club’s Golf Day last Thursday, with local golfers battling it out on the fairways and greens.

It was the team consisting of Marcel Meyer, Hennie Meyer, Johan Muller and Clifford Mogale who claimed victory with a score of 114 points. Clinching second position was the team of Liano Viviers, Fred Hurter, Danie Bouwer and Alvin Lucas with 109 points.

From the two teams two individuals also scored high as Fred Hurter landed the ball nearest to the pin on hole four and Marcel Meyer claimed longest drive on the second hole.

Other individual winners were: James Edwards (nearest to the pin on the eighth hole), Zandré de Vos (nearest to the pin on the 16th hole) and Shaun Mouton (longest drive on the 12th hole).

The event was concluded in the evening with prize-giving and an auction.
