Venda FC to face Upington City in Thohoyandou showdown

Venda FC will battle Upington City at Thohoyandou Stadium this Saturday as fans hope for another win to build on their recent momentum.

LIMPOPO – Soccer fans are gearing up for an exciting Motsepe Foundation Championship League clash this Saturday afternoon at the Thohoyandou Stadium, where Venda Football Club (VFC) will take on Upington City.

The match is expected to attract a large crowd, as questions swirl around the current form of Black Leopards, who recently played under protest due to registration issues following a Fifa dispute. The Leopards lost 3-0 at home to Casric Stars and drew 2-2 with University of Pretoria, leaving them in 16th place on the league table with just one point. A win is crucial if they hope to reignite their promotion ambitions.

Meanwhile, VFC is gaining momentum under coach Clinton Larsen, recording their first victory with a narrow 2-1 win over Gomora United at the Thohoyandou Stadium. The team is set to face Millford FC, who are still recovering from a 1-0 defeat against Casric Stars.

After the win against Gomora United, Larsen noted that his players are steadily adapting to his coaching philosophy. Asked about promotion prospects, he remained cautiously optimistic, saying, “Anything is still possible this season”.
