TIP OF THE WEEK

Play the point before the winner

You do not need to finish every rally with one spectacular shot. Build the point, move your opponents and wait for the right ball. Smart padel wins more matches than rushed padel.

The leagues are on!

A big week of padel has arrived, with two exciting new leagues officially taking to the courts.

For close to 11 weeks, Tuesday evenings belong to the ladies as eight teams begin their campaign in the Premier Resources Ladies Padel League. With more than R20 000 in prizes up for grabs, every pairing, point and tactical decision will matter. Expect competitive matches, clever team strategy and plenty of surprises as the league unfolds.

On Wednesdays, the men step into the spotlight for the CFAO Mobility Toyota Limpopo Men’s League. They will be battling it out for a grand prize of R15 000 –  and with serious bragging rights on the line too, the competition promises to be fierce from the very first serve.

Beyond the leagues, there is always a reason to get onto the court. Our regular tournaments continue at Tzaneen Padel and Bendor Padel, bringing together players of all ages and playing levels. Whether you are an experienced competitor or still finding your feet, there is a place for you in the action.

And then there is the Joker Pot. Much like a golf jackpot, the pot offers players a chance to walk away with an exciting weekly prize. If the Joker is not drawn, the money rolls over – making the next opportunity even bigger. One game. One draw. One very lucky player could take it all.

Weekend recap

What. A. Weekend.

The courts were alive both locally and in Tzaneen, with another great lineup of padel sessions bringing players together for competitive rallies, new challenges and plenty of laughs.

At Tzaneen Padel, players across different levels took to the court and made the most of every match. Over at Bendor Padel, the energy was just as strong, with the usual Ladies Cappuccino, Mixed League and Men’s tournaments – and that unmistakable padel atmosphere carrying throughout the sessions.

It is always encouraging to see familiar faces returning, new players joining in and the local padel community continuing to grow across both towns.
