ON December 28, the Elias Resort in Musanda, near Nzhelele, was packed with partygoers who enjoyed the #Turn Up The Party music festival that was hosted by YML Entertainment.

The entertainment line-up included Metro FM DJ Glen Lewis, Lulo Café, AB Crazy, EnoSoul, Dr Gee, Mizo Phyll and a surprise performance by local musical hero Colbert Mukwevho.

Artists from Limpopo also had the opportunity to share the stage with the professional DJ’s and artists.

According to YML Entertainment director Shane Mulaudzi, they plan to host this festival annually.

“The #Turn Up The Party music festival is an opportunity for local people to enjoy a day out with friends and family. It also provides opportunities for skills transfer, development and training as young artists get the opportunity to learn from the best. The festival also ensures an economic spin-off and creates jobs,” he said.

“We create events where music lovers can enjoy unforgettable performances. We aim to provide festivalgoers with incredible memories and experiences. This is an opportunity for people to meet new people, forge new friendships and network.”

He said local festivals occupied a special place in the hearts of the people of Vhembe and would always attract large crowds.

“Our main aim is to provide a platform for local talent to be developed. The #Turn Up The Party music festival was the perfect vehicle to do just that. We will create more opportunities for exposure in the near future with more exciting events and festivals.”
