BMW 2 Series Active Tourer now at Modern Autohaus

POLOKWANE – THE new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer now makes everyday life even more exciting, as well as ensuring that long trips are more comfortable.

This has been done by combining intelligent flexibility with BMW’s renowned comfort and dynamics.

The new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is remarkably compact on the outside yet incredibly spacious on the inside. With its powerful contours and dynamic lines, it perfectly combines everyday practicality and driving pleasure. Whether driving in urban areas or cruising along country roads, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will impress with its excellent road manners, not to mention its low fuel consumption figures.

Add BMW’s exceptional comfort, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will make even the longest drive seem like a short ride. The driver and passengers will further experience its spaciousness, the elevated seating position of the driver and the ample head and legroom space in the rear. The 2 Series Active Tourer also has exceptional luggage space and with both the rear seat backrests and the front passenger backrest able to fold down, even more loading space can be acquired. This will enable 1 510 litres of additional luggage space.

Owners of the new 2 Series Active Tourer have the option of moving the rear seat forward or backward so that either the rear passengers are comfortable, the capacity of the luggage compartment is increased to 638 litres. In addition, the angle of the rear seat backrest can also be adjusted to three positions.

The new 2 Series Active Tourer further offers contactless opening of the tailgate, which is part of BMW’s Comfort Access system. A quick, directed wave of the foot under the rear bumper triggers a sensor that opens or closes the tailgate. Inside the cabin, the new 2 Series Active Tourer is offered with a full-colour head-up display that indicates various driving information directly into the driver’s line of vision, allowing full concentration whilst driving. This head-up display is only available in conjunction with optional Navigation Plus.

Thanks to BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology, the new generation BMW petrol and diesel engines has remarkably more agile power delivery and exceptional responsiveness, even at low engine speeds. There are two models destined for the South African market, namely the BMW 218i Active Tourer and the BMW 225i Active Tourer.

The BMW 218i Active Tourer is powered by BMW’s TwinPower three cylinder petrol engine, which delivers 100kW and 200Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 9,3 seconds with a top speed of 200km/h. Fuel consumption is given at 4,9l per 100km and CO² emissions of 115g per km.

The heart of the BMW 225i Active Tourer is BMW’s TwinPower four cylinder turbo petrol engine, which produces 170kW and 350Nm of torque. This power plant accelerates the 225i Active Tourer from 0-100km/h in just 6,8 seconds and can reach a top speed of 235km/h. Fuel consumption is given at 6 litres per 100km with CO² emissions of only 139 per km.
