Botlokwa will be abuzz on February 14 when the Botlokwa Stadium hosts a Valentine Music Festival with a difference.
GA-RAMOKGOPA in Botlokwa will be abuzz on Saturday, February 14 when the Botlokwa Stadium hosts a Valentine Music Festival with a difference.
According to Eddy Chauke of Maeddy Sound Production, the organiser of the festival, the aim of the festival is to raise funds for people who are intellectually impaired.
“We want to show people who are intellectually impaired that we care and we love them. Valentine’s Day is a day to express love and to celebrate love,” says Chauke.
He says they also want to create jobs for the people of Botlokwa.
“We want to create a platform where local DJs will share the stage with top South African DJs,” he says.
The line-up for the festival includes Vetkuk vs Mahoota, DJ Red Carpet, DJ Chicken, King Dibs, Kwenisto and Brazo Wa Africa.
Chauke says they plan to make the festival an annual event. “We aim to create exposure for local talented artists and create business opportunities. We will continue to work closely with both rural and urban residents.”
Tickets cost R50, R80 for couples, while VIP costs R120.
Proceeds of the festival will go towards the Botlokwa LSEN School.
