DJ’s fresh beats will move you

THENDO "DJ Fresh Polony" Mahada says he wants to honour his loyal fans with an unforgettable house album, which he hopes to release soon.

THENDO “DJ Fresh Polony” Mahada says he wants to honour his loyal fans with an unforgettable house album, which he hopes to release soon.

Fresh Polony says he has always loved music and he started out by imitating songs from other DJs.

“After I matriculated, I went on to study sound engineering because of the love I have for music and I wanted to pursue a career in it. I learned how to mix sound from friends who had DJing equipment,” says Fresh Polony.

He says he makes money by performing at different events, but his biggest wish is to get a record label and release an album.

“I want to make more music, and I am working hard to get a recording deal. Some of the highlights of my career include performing at the Thiko Events Music Festival in Venda, where I played alongside local and international DJs,” he says.

Fresh Polony says he is determined to make a name for himself in the industry, and thanks his fans for their support.

“I am also grateful for my older brother, Thabelo’s support, who contributed in buying the equipment that I use. He has always believed in me and I know he is proud of my achievements.”

He admits that being a DJ is challenging as he sometimes struggles to find promoters.

“I rely on social media to promote my music and to communicate with my fans. That’s how they know where I am going to perform,” he says.
