AFRO-Soul singer and dancer, Kenya Maenetja, has set tongues wagging on social media after she recently posted a status saying she was a happy and single woman.

POLOKWANE – AFRO-Soul singer and dancer, Kenya Maenetja, has set tongues wagging on social media after she recently posted a status saying she was a happy and single woman.

Her status read: “I’m single and have been so for a long time and almost forgot that am not in a relationship (sic)”.

But her fans and some of her friends disputed her claims, saying she may be single, but was “getting some action” from an unknown man in Polokwane.

Some even showed personal interest in the singer.

Club DJ, DJ Bambo, was the first to ask the singer if being single meant she faced a dry spell, while others, including, DJ Morgi disputed her claims, saying her statement was a lie.

Kwena Makhafola tried to come to Kenya’s defence, explaining that by implying she was single, did not mean she was not “getting any action.”

He said Kenya did not say she was not getting any action, she only said she was single.

When Express approached Kenya for comment, she said she was currently not seeing anyone as

“I have a lot of work and a new relationship wouldn’t benefit me”.

She also brushed off claims that she was secretly seeing a mysterious man in Polokwane.

She added that she was taking a break from the dating scene.

“I usually meet guys with trust issues. Most of them are threatened by my career and the industry. Maybe one day I will meet someone who gets it,” she said.
