LIMPOPO – THE Entertainment Limpopo Musicians Association (Elma) invites residents to be part of a music video shoot, which will take place in and around Polokwane soon.
The music video is part of a prize of a music competition that Elma ran last year, searching for the best gospel, hip hop or house song.
According to Eliya “Kiatso” Papole, the CEO of Elma, the video shoot is worth R8 000.
He says they want to give upcoming musicians a platform to showcase their talent.
“We have a lot of talented artists in the province who are producing good music. We launched the competition because we know that music videos are expensive,” he says.
He says Elma wants to expose these musicians and develop them.
“Elma offers work-shops and mentorship programmes to local artists to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the industry. We also want them to take their work seriously in order to be successful,” he says.
The two winners of the competition will shoot their videos this weekend.
Hip hop musician, Tebalelo Mmako (27) says he has always believed in his talent and he worked hard during the competition.
“I am a poetic hip hop artist. My music tackles social issues that affect people daily.
“The love I get from my fans keeps me going,” he says.
He says he cannot wait to have fun with his supporters during the video shoot, which will be shot in Turfloop and Johannesburg on Sunday.
Tshepo Mamabolo (27) says his music is all about kasi rap.
He invites fans to share the experience at Seshego zone 4 and in Polokwane on Saturday.
