Macah set to become beacon of hope for youth
Macah Mabitsela has become a shining example in his community
POLOKWANE – Macah Mabitsela has become a shining example in his community.
He is a young man who grew up in Unit C in the Mankweng area – an environment riddled with drug abuse, high levels of teenage pregnancy and unemployment.
Macah refused to be just another unemployment statistic and decided to start his own company in March with the aim to uplift young people in his community as well.
Although his business is still in its developing stages, he stays determined and committed to make a difference.
“There is a lot of unemployed youth around in my area, including me. So I saw an opportunity to create my own employment since I realised no one else will.
“There are a lot of talented people where I come from and sadly they do not have the platform to showcase their talent,” adds Macah.
As he is just starting out, he operates his business out of his garage and already employs five people.
“So far we have also introduced events management and youth empowerment programmes. There are still more community projects we are looking forward to do in the near future,” he explains.
So far life has taught him a few lessons and Macah wants to advise the youth to stop going to other provinces to seek opportunities and success.
“There is no need to travel on the N1 South to achieve what you want from life. Let’s stay here and make it in our own backyards. Let’s start here in our own neighbourhoods.”
In his spare time he loves reading and interacting with other people.
On the cards at present for his business is a fashion show scheduled for early 2016 where he wants to create a platform for aspiring fashion designers in the province to showcase their talent.
Fashion designers who want to join this movement and/or event should contact Macah as soon as possible. If you are keen on joining him in his quest to transform society you can e-mail Macah at mabitselaernest@gmail.com or contact him at 072 787 5625.
