Add Jankie’s album to your Christmas playlist

Ke Phala is the title of Jankie Makopa's debut album, which was released a fortnight ago

POLOKWANE – Ke Phala is the title of Jankie Makopa’s debut album, which was released a fortnight ago.

Jankie says he was born into a musical family, so music has always been part of his life.

“I was always involved in talent shows at school. I started singing in our church’s youth choir and then moved to the chairperson role including conducting the youth choir and being a solo tenor for the same choir. I started building my own studio at home and this album was composed in my studio,” says Jankie.

He says it took him about five years to package the album and he worked with DJs Clock and Maphorisa, Busiswa, Tuks Senganga, Action from 2wice As Nice, and Encore.

“The album is available on iTunes and is suitable for the family,” he says.

He further says he has a 40 year plan, which starts with this album. “The plan is to build my community through educational programmes that identify talent at a very young age, be it sport, arts or marketing,” he concludes.
