Young motivational speaker lives by his values

Real success is ultimately measured not by the material wealth you have acquired, but by the positive impact you have made on people's lives

POLOKWANE – Real success is ultimately measured not by the material wealth you have acquired, but by the positive impact you have made on people’s lives.

These are the values 24-year-old Thapelo Lekala lives by.

Lekala is a motivational speaker, youth developer, author and a student at the Tshwane University of Technology Polokwane campus. He currently holds a national diploma in operations management.

Growing up he has always believed in making a tangible difference in the world. He describes himself as a hard working and focused young man. Back in March 2014, Lekala wrote a book titled Success is a Choice. According to him, it is a concise guide to help make achieving greatness a certainty.

“The book will take you through important concepts to shape your mindset into understanding that how your life turns out is a result of the choices you make. You are behind the wheel of your own destiny. Make the right turns, make better choices, choose success,” he says.

He prides himself in being able to sell 2 000 copies without the help of any major book store.

After publishing his own book, he is now concentrating on helping other first time authors to also realise their dreams.

“I plan to grow my publishing company to help many more first time authors who wish to publish their work. I also want to do a business and leadership seminar for Polokwane and work on my second book,” he continues.

As a motivational speaker, he aims to inspire people to discover their true purpose and unleash their potential as they pave their way to success. He has been to five different radio stations for interviews and is currently a permanent contributor on Capricorn FM’s Recline show weekday evenings between 20:30 and 21:00 on the motivation corner.

As he is currently busy with his bachelor of technology degree, he stresses the importance of education. He is also a firm believer in paying it forward.

“My goal in life is not only to succeed but to educate, motivate, inspire and assist others to succeed.”
