The 2016 Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles last night

POLOKWANE – The evening was marked by powerful performances by Kendrick Lamar, Adele and a tribute to Lionel Richie, as well as David Bowie by Lady Gaga.
The night’s biggest winners were Kendrick Lamar and Taylor Swift, who won Album of the Year.

Lady Gaga’s David Bowie tribute
Weeks after his death, Lady Gaga paid homage to the legend with a powerful performance. Lady Gaga also paid tribute to Bowie with her outfit on the red carpet.
Kendrick Lamar’s performance
Said to be a ‘controversial’ performance by host LL Cool J, Kendrick highlighted issues of race with his performance of The Blacker the Berry and his chart topping hit, Alright.

Hamilton
The Broadway hip hop musical about Alexander Hamilton, the founding father of the United States, won Best Musical Theatre Album and the performance had the internet buzzing.

Taylor Swift dissed Kanye West
With his controversial lyrics about Taylor Swift in his new album, The Life of Pablo, Kanye West did not attend the ceremony, however, Taylor got a chance to address the feud on stage when she accepted the award for Album of the year. She never once mentioned his name in her speech, but we all knew who the dig was about.

Adele’s weird audio
Obviously everyone was waiting to hear Adele sing her hit song ‘Hello’, but she didn’t. However, everyone was rather talking about the weird audio that was heard throughout her performance. The singer took to twitter after the awards to clear things up.
Justin’s first Grammy
Justin Bieber won his first grammy for his collaboration with Jack U for Where Are You Now. The singer brought his little brother along with him to the show.
Lionel Richie tribute
Performing an assortment of Lionel Richie’s solo hits and his well-known songs with the Commodores, John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor and Tyrese brought the medley together with Richie eventually joining them on stage.

Zendaya’s mullet
Known for taking fashion risks, Zendaya rolled up on the Grammy red carpet with a blonde mullet, it seems paying homage to fashion icon David Bowie too. However, that didn’t stop the twitter trolls making fun of her.

Tori Kelly’s face
While accepting her award for Album of the Year, Taylor Swift was talking to all the young women out there, but it wasn’t Taylor that the world was taking notice of, it was Tori Kelly’s face that has the internet buzzing. The singer looked totally unimpressed. Same girl, same.
