Smangele is a shoe collector of note
Our fashion star of the week, Smangele Khumalo, says she is a bag and shoes collector
POLOKWANE – The 26-year-old from Burgersfort says an outfit is not complete without a classic handbag and a “killer” pair of shoes. She says although she does not have a specific style, she likes keeping up with trends and is not really picky when it comes to designer labels.
Asked how many pairs of shoes she owns, she says a whopping 50 pairs and she plans to collect many more.
“A nice pair of shoes can bring a whole outfit together and can change any outfit into something extravagant,” she says.
The Energy FM receptionist and personal assistant to station manager, BK Matewa, says she has to look good at all times as she is the face of the station.
“I’m the first person anyone sees when they walk in the door, so I need to project a stunning image of both the company and myself every day. I meet influential people daily and I want to leave a good impression.”
She loves shoes and bags because they are accessories which can make or break an outfit and she likes to mix and match them to create a variety of funky or sophisticated looks.
“My collection ranges from sneakers and flat shoes to killer heels, though I prefer wearing heels most days.”
Along with the shoes and bags, she loves accessories of all kinds as she can dress an outfit up or down, it all depends on the accessories.
She says the three essential items she cannot leave the house with are a fancy pair of heels, a sexy dress and bold accessories.
Although she doesn’t have a favourite colour, she prefers bright colours. “The colours in the clothes I wear need to reflect on my personality and my joy of life and happiness.”
To maintain her glowing skin, she says she doesn’t wear too much make-up and cleanses her skin daily and always removes all her make-up before she goes to bed.
