Lesiba talks motor sales
Review Bonus chats to Lesiba Mahapa, a senior sales executive at Volkswagen (VW) Polokwane to find out how he handles business in such a tough industry
POLOKWANE – Lesiba has a qualification in Business Management which put him on the path of the motoring industry and he started his career as sales person at BB Auto Polokwane in 2005. He joined VW Polokwane as a senior sales executive in 2011 and has since achieved great success.
“I have 11 years experience in the motoring industry and the only thing which stays constant is that it fluctuates daily,” he explains the irony with a smile.
“I do well though. I am energetic all the time and I love people. The challenges we face in this industry depend on the market, so you never know what the next day will bring.”
Lesiba says there is a passion and love for clients at VW and he appreciates the effort the company goes to in order to please the people who walk through the doors. Lesiba has mastered the art of sales, saying its not difficult to sell something to someone who have an idea of what they want.
“VW is a big brand, many of our clients are brand loyal,” he continues, saying VW is well liked because it caters for everyone. From students to pensioners, there is something for everyone in the family.
Because of his executive status, Lesiba can go on to work for any VW outlet anywhere in the world which makes the job even more appealing to him.
“It’s good to associate myself with a successful brand because I can be even more successful than I am now with the same company.”
His advice to young people is to work hard to secure permanent positions. He says its good to have a plan which you can build on. “A career helps you to focus,” he concluded.
Apart from his day job, Lesiba owns his own company; Lesmaada Entertainment which specialises in promotions, road shows, gigs, sound hire and wedding and party planning and he and his wife, Dalsy, have four children.
