Be on trend in winter with these fashion tips
In an ever changing society, it is only natural that fashion will also evolve at a fast pace

POLOKWANE – The latest trends are ever changing and people do their best to keep up with the latest fashions and crazes.
Matshidiso Molepo (30) is a dynamic fashion designer in the Polokwane CBD and she discusses some of this seasons must-have items and trends.
“Blue is in this season, especially navy blue. You can mix that with any bright colour, perhaps a yellow or a red, and capes are a must-have, especially ones with prints on them,” she says.
According to her, you have to choose a cape that suits your body type. For curvier women, she recommends buying a longer cape. For the skinnier, more petite figure, she says an asymmetrical cape is better suited.
“African prints, long waistcoats and jackets, lace and vintage clothing are a great addition to a wardrobe this season, however, you have to wear clothes which suit your body and feel comfortable. Looking and feeling great are the most essential ‘accessories’ to any wardrobe. Clothes are meant to complement your body and make you look and feel good, not make you an uncomfortable ‘fashion victim’,” she explains.
Tips for curvy women:
• Avoid horizontal stripes as they will make you look bigger.
• Buy black clothing, they will hide problem areas if you have any.
• Avoid wearing white pants or dresses.
Tips for skinny or petite women:
• Wear clothes which give you a bit of ‘volume’.
• Avoid wearing clothes that are tight fitting.
• Peplum jackets are a must have because they create the illusion of curves on a thinner frame.
