Fun day: something for the motoring, sound fanatics
Those who love fast cars, skilled drifting and loud exhausts are encouraged to gather at the Silicon Road Go-cart Track for the BB Group Nissan Fun Day that will take place on Saturday.
POLOKWANE -According to Charles Baker, one of the organisers, attendees will be given a chance to test drive some of the latest Nissan and Renualt models. “People will be given a chance to test vehicles such as Nissan’s Qashqai, Navara and X-Trail among others. Valid Value will also show off some of their affordable used vehicles,” he said.
He added that the latest Renault Kadjar will also be available for a test drive.
The crowd will be entertained by Cooper Drifting Team from Mokopane. Dennis Palm, Cooper Drift Team representative said the team has been preparing for the day and they are ready to reveal their best drifting skills. “We have been told that there will be other drifters from Johannesburg who will join us on the tracks. This promises to be the best fun day experience and people should come out in numbers to support and cheer as drivers their best to impress on the tracks,” said Palm.
There will be a sound competition where sound freaks will put their sound to the test to determine whose sound system is the best. This sound competition will be sanctioned by Teroy Sound. Mathew Ledwaba, Teroy Sound representative, said sound systems differ, hence the competition will be used to determine which system is the best. He added that there will be big prizes at stake for the sound competition winners.
As for 4×4 fanatics, there will be a 4×4 mini-track for visitors to test their vehicles’ competency. The BB Group Nissan Fun Day will also cater for children as there will be jumping castles and other activities to keep the children busy while their parents participate in other activities.
The event is expected to start at 10:00 and finish at around 16:00. A variety of food stalls will be available.
