Sisters are off to the catwalks of the world

Tiyiselani and her sister, Congi are poised to take over the catwalk

LIMPOPO – At just 13 years of age, Tiyiselani Nkuna from Phalaborwa has a special charm for the cameras that might propel her one step closer to being a super model one day.

When she was just 10 years old, she represented the country in Turkey, where she was crowned first princess in the category of African continent in the International contest for fashion, beauty and talents.

This time, she’s going to represent the country in Brazil in the Miss Nations competition alongside her 15-year-old sister, Congi after they both won spots in the Queen Teen World South Africa contest.

Tiyiselani was crowned Miss Pre-teen World SA, while her sister was crowned Queen Teen World SA.

The competition will take place from the 24 August until 4 September.

Both sisters are members of the Amone Modelling Academy in Phalaborwa.

Their proud mother, Florah Mabaso is happy to see her children going to represent the country abroad. “It is pleasing to see them both travel places together…it’s a wonderful feeling that any mother would love to have,” she says.

However, despite the fact that the two girls are going to represent the country in Brazil, it is no cheap feat getting them there.

Their mother is struggling to raise funds by herself for their travel expenses and accommodation.

“These kids are not just going there to make name for themselves, they would be representing the country and the province in particular,” she says, pleading for government’s support to cover the travelling costs.

Anyone willing to assist the sisters can contact Mabaso at 072 754 9183 or 083 759 7661.
