Beauty has her mind set on Miss SA title

"In 10 years time I see myself as the next Miss South Africa and Miss World"

POLOKWANE – This is the dream of 14-year-old Sokoluhle Sibanda.

Sokoluhle began modelling at the age of 10 in 2011 and took part in her first pageant in 2012.

“I realised that I could help people by my participation in beauty pageants,” she explains.

Sokoluhle is part of the Limpopo Beauty Modelling Agency and has a number of titles to her name.

Sokoluhle is very involved in charity work, aiming to eradicate poverty in the province and has done many charity projects. She says doing charity work and knowing she makes a difference is a great feeling. ”

You aren’t just doing it for yourself, it’s for others and knowing that they have benefitted from what you have done is a great feeling,” she says.

Doing charity work motivates her to do more and to do better in her pageants so that she can help more people. “When I enter a pageant, I aim to win that sash in order to be able to change other people’s lives with the influence that sash has.”

She attends school at Eagle’s Nest Christian School and her favourite subject is business studies. “I just want to get out there and start my own business,” she says eagerly.

Sokoluhle plays netball and loves to swim. Her other hobbies include designing jewellery and singing, which is also her talent during pageants. When she isn’t competing, one will most likely find her at the mall, shopping.

Her role model is her mother who motivates her to believe in herself and never doubt her abilities. Sokoluhle wants to become a media liaison officer when she is older and wishes to study media in London.
