Lim beauty off to Miss Grand finals

It goes without saying that Limpopo has unimaginable talent and extraordinary beauty

POLOKWANE – Caitlin Harty (21) is a shining example of what this province has to offer.

The beauty hails from Haenertsburg and completed her matric at Stanford Lake College in 2012. She has been selected as one of the top Miss Grand South Africa finalists in this year’s competition.

The Miss Grand pageant is an annual international beauty contest staged by the Miss Grand International Organisation which searches for women with the beauty to encourage and run the Stop the War and Violence campaign to help people avoid conflict and violence that may lead to war in any form.

The winner of Miss Grand South Africa will go on to represent the country on a global stage at Miss Grand International in Las Vegas, America in October.

“Entries opened early in the year and hundreds of contestants from all over the country signed entered as hopefuls. Each week we went through photographs, workshops and personal meetings. The judging panel carefully eliminated the contestants down to the eight finalists they were certain would be the best candidates to represent Miss Grand South Africa in the final. I am honoured to be the only competitor from Limpopo and I hope to make the province proud,” Harty explains.

The final competition will take place at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria on Saturday, 6 August.
