Vote for Ngola

Edmond Lekgothoane, a local gospel artist, says he is hopeful to win several awards at the upcoming Ingoma and Film, Arts, Music and Entertainment (FAME) Awards.

LIMPOPO – The 40-year-old singer, popularly known as Ngola, was born and raised in Makurung village in Ga-Mphahlele and has recently been nominated for three categories in the Ingoma awards for his drama, 7 Women 1 Man and the accompanying gospel album of the same title.

The drama was nominated for the Best Limpopo Film (drama) category while his gospel track was nominated for the Best Pop/Soul Album and Best Music Video awards. He is also nominated for the Best Gospel Artist category for the FAME Awards.

Growing up in a deep rural village could not keep him from achieving greatness and slowly climbing the ranks in the music industry. He says while growing up he always aspired to become one of the best artists in the country and winning several awards for his work.

“Now my goal of winning several awards is finally within my reach and I humbly appeal to my fans to help make this dream a reality and support me by voting for me,” he explains.

He describes himself as a gospel artist who has never really had an interest in the film industry, however, he says that all changed when his production, 7 Women 1 Man became a hit. That helped to pique his interest and passion for the film industry and he plans on producing more films in the future which he hopes will benefit the youth of Limpopo.

To vote for Ngola in the upcoming Ingoma Awards, SMS “Ngola” to 40439, SMSs cost R2 each. For the FAME Awards SMS “110” to 47052.
