Q. Growing up, what was your dream car?
A. Growing up my dream car was a Volkswagen MK1 modified.
Q. Did you have a lot of toy cars when you were a child?
A. Yes, I liked playing with toy trucks and bakkies.
Q. What was the first car you drove?
A. The first car I ever drove was a Nissan Sentra box-shape.
Q. When did you buy your latest toy?
A. I bought my latest toy last year.
Q. What was the price tag?
A. I bought if for R9 000 but with the modifications, I spent around R28 000 on the car in total.
Q. What are some of the features that you appreciate about the car?
A. The car has an old school feel. I like the rims and the roof rack.
Q. What’s the highest speed you ever achieved with this car?
A. With this one, 220 km/h.
Q. Do you have a nickname for your car?
A. Yes, I call her Kim.
Q. How much does it cost to fill up the tank?
A. It costs R600 to fill her up.
Q. How often do you drive Kim?
A. I drive her daily.
Q. How much does it cost for a major service?
A. A major service would cost around R4 000.
Q. What car do you wish to drive next?
A. I will stick with Volkswagen and say a Microbus Caravelle.
Q. When did you decide to pimp your ride and why?
A. As soon as I bought it. I wanted it to suit my personality.
Q. What did you change on the car and why?
A. I added a set of rims, re-sprayed the car, dropped it and added a roof rack.
Q. How long did it take to complete the modifications?
A. It took about four months.
Q. With the amount you spent on the car, do you think it was worth it?
A. Most definitely.
Q. Have you modified the car’s engine, and if yes, what did you do to it?
A. I haven’t modified the engine yet but it’s in the pipeline.
