Indulge in literature at Literary Fair until 10 Sept
The 5th annual Literary Fair festival kicked off yesterday (Tuesday) at Library Gardens and will end on 10 September.
POLOKWANE – This will include features such as book launches, the launch of a monolingual tsonga dictionary, open mic sessions, youth parliament and a Poetry Burning Event on Friday, 9 September at 19:00.
Some of the greatest writers in the country will be there such as Yewande Omotoso, Harry Kalmer, David Maahlamela, Vonani Bila, and Shafinaaz Hassim, along with several spoken word artists.
Speaking at the launch dinner, organizer Moalusi Lekganyane had this to say. “With this event, we are looking at quality rather than quantity. We want to host the best event with the best people” Lekganyane said.
Some came from as far as KwaZulu Natal to attend the popular fair. Nthabiseng Jafta says she wouldn’t miss it for the world. “We came to honour the literary fair. This is where we belong, the literary world. We wouldn’t miss this event for anything because this where we get to share our knowledge with other people,” Jafta said.
