Great deals and fun rides at basaar
The bi-annual basaar of the NG Renosterpoort church offered a variety of home-baked treats and bargains to residents on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – According to Talita Brits, one of the parishioners, this weekend’s basaar was one of the biggest she has ever seen.
“This is our second basaar for the year and it was definitely one of the biggest yet. The funds raised during the basaars will go toward the day-to-day running of the church and we are grateful for the support the community has shown throughout the year,” Brits said.
All the parishioners do their part in making the bi-annual basaars a success and there are stalls selling everything from clothing to food, antiques, fresh produce and meat at bargain prices.
One of the residents, Annatjie van Wyk, said she and her friends always support basaars in the city and this one was a real treat. “We are a group of friends who go to various church basaars to show our support because we love what they do. I think it is excellent that people do whatever it takes to assist and support their churches,” Van Wyk said.
Annietjie Snyman is a parishioner of NG Renosterpoort and she always helps with the preparations for the basaars.
“I start knitting the wares I sell at the basaar well in advance to ensure I meet the demand of the people who come to support our church basaar,” she said.
