Raise your voice, tell your story
Miss Regal International South Africa 2016 finalist, Gail Mokwatlo, will host a My Story empowerment workshop on 17 September at Church on the Hill in Dalmada.
POLOKWANE – The purpose of the workshop is to empower victims of abuse and give them a chance to talk about their ordeal; for them to heal, and move on with their lives.
The Miss Regal International SA competition celebrates and showcases the intelligence, beauty and talent of the modern woman.
One who is not only beautiful, but driven with a purpose to succeed, a woman truly magnificent and dignified.
Gail is a first- year accounting student at the University of Limpopo and said the workshop will bring her one step closer to winning the title. “The workshop will serve as a fund-raising event where all the proceeds will be donated to People OpposingWomen Abuse (POWA).
“Attendees are requested to bring sanitary towels which we will donate to Support an African Child,” she explained.
She further said men are also welcome to attend the workshop.
She added the pageant is new to South Africa but it is powered by very influential people such as Aldine Friedman, a fashion designer, Pearl Nxele, Miss SA Princess and Miss Regal International SA Pageant Director, Nhlanhla Mokena, Director of POWA, Louis Fourie, pageant coach, Nadeema Kahan, life coach, Sonia Raciti Oshry, Miss SA 1998 and Bokang Montjane, Miss SA 2010.
“We want to give back to the community and empower people who have been mistreated,” Gail explained. The pageant finale will take place on 29 September.
“It would mean the world to me if people showed their support and attended the event,” she said.
She added that being a woman is tough and that instead of bottling up their feelings, women should get together and share their stories.
Tickets for the workshop cost R250 per person.
The workshop will start at 13:00.
