POLOKWANE – Local performers took to the stage at the Polokwane Library Auditorium on Friday, 9 September for an evening of poetry.

The event, dubbed Polokwane Burning, saw spoken word enthusiasts from as far as Bloemfontein and even Durban perform their poems to a receptive audience. Topics covered by the poets include the different struggles both men and women face and the strength of their will power which pushes them to face their challenges head on.

The ceremony master, David Mawanamela, described the evening as a great success and the message was simple; that poetry is a reflection of real life.
