Capricorn FM lifestyle, music festival the talk of the town

Capricorn FM, in conjunction with etv, hosted the Lifestyle and Music Festival, talk of the town event, at the Polokwane Cricket Club on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Revellers came out in numbers to support the event and witness the performance of their top Mzansi artists.

Over 20 artists from various music genres across the country made their turn on stage while revellers had the opportunity to browse through the array of pop-up markets that sold arts, crafts, and other lifestyle items.

Hip hop superstar Kiernan Jarryd AKA Forbes, and kwaito star Kabelo Bouga Luv Mabalane were among the entertainment line-up and had fans singing along. DJ Zinhle was behind the decks, while Afro pop duo Mafikizolo, Black Motion, disco king and Papa Penny Penny Ahee! host, Eric Penny Penny Nkovane, Sands Matsebula from Swaziland of Tigi fame, Vusi Nova, Robbie Malinga, Kwesta, King Monada, Mizzo Phyll, and Capricorn FM deejays added to the entertainment mix.

Capricorn FM will now prepare for June’s Castle Lite Unlocks event with Bryson Tiller and Travis Scott in Polokwane.

According to Capricorn FM Station Manager, Rofhiwa Tholi B Bologo, Limpopo is a vibrant and culturally rich province, awash with local and national musical culture featured in the Lifestyle and LMF programme.

“The calibre of the artists we have put together for this inaugural festival were exceptional, catering to a variety of musical tastes. We have rolled out the red carpet for musical fans in anticipation of a great day and we were not disappointed,” said Bologo.

Penny Penny said being invited to perform at the Capricorn FM Lifestyle and Music Festival shows respect and love from Capricorn FM. “Although we don’t get as many invites from other provinces, it makes me glad that Capricorn FM sees me as a legend and invited me to perform,” he said.

Bongani Smol Mohosana of Black Motion said radio stations such as Capricorn FM show love and appreciation in terms of the music they play. “We plan to release our new album, Ditaula, in 2019 and it is going to be amazing,” said Mohosana.
