Draft DC gets his inspiration from Lil Wayne

Inspired by international hip hop artist, Lil Wayne, Tshepo Alfred Chosi from Seshego says that he aims to be as big as the renowned rapper one day.

POLOKWANE – “I started rapping and writing music while I was still in high school  and even though a lot of people shut my ideas down, which was very discouraging, I carried on with doing what I love because I am still chasing my dream to become internationally recognised. I used to mimic Lil Wayne growing up and I would get compliments from my peers and other people in the community telling me that I am good and that I must consider getting into the music industry as a profession,” he explained.

The 21-year-old says he looks forward to travelling the world to share his unique sound and music. He says that his music is inspired by everyday life events as well as the lifestyle that is followed in his township in Seshego. “We learn on the move, there is no manual for making it life which is why people take chances at things so that they can live better lives. The same applies in the music industry, one must be willing to take a leap of faith and put him or herself out and be willing and open for whatever response, reception or criticism that will be directed back to him or her. We learn from criticism and we grow from that. I have grown from all the criticism that I have received ever since I started this journey,’’ he added.

He is currently working on a EP which he says he will be released by the end of this year. His current music is available on Soundcloud, Youtube, Audiomack, Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. He says he tries as hard as he can as a music producer, engineer as well as audio mix master to exhaust all media avenues so that he can market his brand and make his music known all over the country. He is set to perform at the Mokopane Social Market on the 27 October.

He is available across all social media platforms as Draft_DC.
