Make someone’s day with a Cakes by Dee cupcake

POLOKWANE – Whether you are hosting a wedding, graduation party, birthday party or any form of celebration, it is common courtesy to thank your guest either with the popular souvenir gifts or one can do something sweet, and bake some customised cupcakes.
Dominica Matsi from Moletjie, Mabokelele is a baker at heart who bakes for various events in Limpopo and says that her love for baking started when she was in primary school.
“I basically started baking at a very young age. I used to watch my mother bake and when I saw an advertisement from Limpopo Women in Business on social media on basic cake baking for a weekend in 2016 by Cleo Musvasvas, I knew I had to attend. After the event, I have never looked back. It was not an easy journey but nonetheless I persevered,” she explained.
She gave BONUS readers a simple recipe from her secret recipe book, Cakes by Dee to bake some custom design cup cakes.
You will need the following for the cupcakes:
It makes a batch of about 20-25 cupcakes.
Ingredients:
• 2 cups flour
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 3/4 cup sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 cup milk
• 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees, line muffin cups with papers.
2. Cream butter and sugar untill light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
3. Add flour (mixed with baking powder and salt) alternating with milk beat well, stir in vanilla.
4. Divide evenly among pans and bake for 18 minutes. Let cool in pans and enjoy.
