Tabane wins Top Model SA Limpopo Fresh Face

Top Model SA Limpopo Fresh Face winner, Tabane Matladi (19), says she was a shy girl growing up and through modelling managed to overcome her fears.

POLOKWANE – Tabane says she owes her success to the Director and founder of the Limpopo Modelling Academy, Katryn Barwise Celliers. “She helped me overcome my fear as a shy individual through her mentoring and training. She taught me how to walk, pose and be confident in front of an audience. She also encouraged me to be more social. I thank her for being a good and considerate mentor to all her models,” she said.

In August last year, Tabane entered Top Model South Africa Limpopo, which was hosted at Classy Lifestyle Centre, and she was crowned  Top Model SA Limpopo Fresh Face in the 16 to 24 age category. By winning the title, Tabane automatically qualified for the Top Model SA competition in Johannesburg, which was held in February.

When she was younger she attended her primary school at PCS and her high school at Capricorn High School where she also completed her matric in 2017. After school decided to pursue a career in accounting as she says she loves numbers and solving problems.

Tabane is currently an accounting sciences student at the University of Limpopo (UL) and attends modelling classes as an extra mural activity and hobby, to keep herself busy in her spare time. “I have a timetable set for my school work and modelling classes, so I manage my time and balance the two,” she added.

Her advise to girls her age who are shy is to go for what they want in life and not get discouraged by anyone.
