Raising money to fulfil dream in Orlando, Florida
Marcia Mathekgana, who hails from the village of Moletjie Ga-Maribana was recently crowned as second princess in the Miss Moletjie pageant.
LIMPOPO – She is a journalism student and a model who aced several titles in various pageant in South Africa, who now hopes to fly to the US to grace the international stage.
She says after seeing a television interview of one of the organisers of the International Arts Talent Showcase (IATS), she knew it was an opportunity to move internationally.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I am grateful for, it has always been a dream for me to be an international model and represent my country and province.
“This opportunity will expose me to different agencies around the world and I believe I will be one of those who get signed,” she said.
Mathekgana attended auditions at the Just You Model Scout and Management offices in Sandton last year after she saw the interview, and received a call-back to attend the IATS main event in October.
Then she received an invitation to audition for the Applause Rising Talent Showcase (Arts) in the US from Kim Meyers, the director of the show.
She is currently raising money to be able to fly to the Arts convention in Orlando, Florida in July to be able to take part in this prestigious competition.
