Clauds has the X-Factor

Claudina 'Clauds' Ramulondi keeps crowds coming back for her soulful voice.

POLOKWANE – Claudina ‘Clauds’ Ramulondi keeps crowds coming back for her soulful voice.

The beautiful artist has an incredible stage presence, but her voice is even better. Clauds was born and bred in Ha-Mashamba and is currently lives in Polokwane.

The 37-year-old started singing at a young age in a church choir, at Apostolic Mission Church in her home village. As she progressed in music, she added RnB and afro-pop to her gospel background.

“I didn’t study music, it’s just something I was born with. Singing in church helped me fall in love with singing. Since then I have not looked back. I hope to study music in the near future, so I can also hone my skills and learn new things,” she said.

She says she always brings her own personal touch to her performances, which makes her stand out from any other performer.

Her other interests are reading, spending time with her family and travelling. Some of the challenges she faces as an artist, is not being taken seriously by the people who request her services.

“People don’t want to pay what the services are worth. Sometimes they just don’t pay at all,” she said. This makes life difficult for her because regardless of how much she loves being on stage, she also needs to survive.

Despite the different events she performs at, her roots remain firmly rooted in church. She cites her all-time favourite moment as performing in church one Sunday morning, and witnessing how powerful music is, and how it can literally change somebody’s life.
