Tivani is Miss Freedom of the World
Young model, Tivani Makamu (21), is a multi-talented woman who does not hesitate to explore the world in search of her niche and establishing herself as a social being.
LIMPOPO – She has been a model for some years, a talent which she discovered and nurtured while she was still in high school. Tivani has recently won the international pageant’s title, Miss Freedom of the World, together with two other titles, Miss Best Smile and Miss Friendship of Freedom of the World. The pageant was held in Kosovo and Tivani said: “My strengths come from the people who criticise me. Everyone has encountered bullies, but I am glad mine pushed me to be the person I am today. I have taught myself not to be lazy, grab the opportunities that come my way and use them constructively.”
She was previously crowned as Miss Malamulele 2017 and Miss Rainbow Nation South Africa 2018.
“I was named model of the year at Model Manifest KP, the modelling school I am currently attending at Kempton Park,” she added.
Tivani has a passion for modelling, dancing, make-up artistry and giving back to the community.
“I also run a foundation which I will register soon. Through this foundation, I engage in charity work such as donating clothes to the needy and orphanages.”
Tivani is originally from Xibangwa village in the Malamulele area but currently based in Gauteng, where she moved to 2010. She attended different school’s over the years.
“I was always moving from one school to another, but I eventually matriculated at Eqinisweni Secondary School in Tembisa. I spent half of my life in Limpopo and then moved to Gauteng.”
For the Miss Freedom World’s programme, Tivani was sponsored by her friend’s father, David Ramathavha. Her coach is Lindy Burrell of Model Manifest.
“My future plan is to own my own beauty salon and modelling school. I have already started but it is not official yet, as I still need to register it,” she said.
