POLOKWANE – Meet Sello ‘Sfudi’ Morwasehla, a local DJ who offers 10 commandments for up-and-coming DJ’s in the area to follow.

He says he never got obtained formal education in music but got help from a well-known DJ, Big T, in the Louis Trichardt area. “Big T helped me by showing me how to use the equipment and when I first started out, I used the virtual DJ app to play. I have since learnt how to use professional equipment.” Sello says he has always known that he would make it in the industry because he is passionate about music. “When I looked at other artists, I always told myself I could do what they are doing, and I could do it better.”

Sello became the resident DJ at Executive Lounge, an upmarket bar in the Louis Tichardt area, in 2014 and now boasts with having played in most of the major clubs in Limpopo, going as far as Thohoyandou. He says he draws inspiration from local DJ’s whom he had a personal interaction with such as Eno Soul and King Mshivo, having seen firsthand their capabilities. Sello says he is versatile in the sense that he can play all kinds of genre’s but personally prefers Soulful house. “I have never been a commercial house DJ but if its time to ‘Shesha Geza’ then I am definitely up for it.”
